breakfast club censorship

so i'm watching the breakfast club because if it's on i have to and when they're panning down a defaced locker at the beginning it says, vertically:

!!

meaning they digitized out the F.  now since when is making fictional homophobia invisible supposed to help anything?  it was on cable, channel 50 something, so i know they can air that extra special word.  cable sure aired it (with the got at the end) when covering the isaiah washington homophobia story.

at least they didn't go so far as to replace the F with another letter, as the meaning would have been altered, not just obfuscated: 

T (self-referential graffiti artist spells TAG!!)
R (anti-period contingent spells RAG!!)
Z (zig supremacist spells ZAG!!)

of course they always censor the hot beef injection line, but i find visual censorship more disconcerting because i wonder what i didn't realize they censored.  it's hard to notice what's not there.

Haha, I watched that yesterday too, but not closely enough to notice the missing F.
